Some of you may recall last May, at the pre-E3 Sony press confrence to announce the Playstation 3, they showed some amazing footage of EA Sport’s Fight Night Round 3. It showcased the power of the PS3, and it sure did make some Xbox 360 supporters worried. It seemed that Sony had a hot exclusive on their hands. Then on G4tv’s coverage of Zero Hour, they debuted the trailer of Fight Night Round 3 on the 360. From the trailer, the game did look good, but lacked the polish of the PS3 footage. Now, the FNR3 demo has hit the Xbox Live Marketplace, and it sure looks just as good as the PS3 demo.
The controls take a bit of getting used to after Dead or Alive 4 but once you’re use to them, it occurs to you, this is truly a next gen title. The first thing you’ll notice is the lack of a life bar. Instead you take clues from the other boxer. If he is blocking his face and backing away, then you are doing a good job. If you suddenly go into first person, and see the mat approaching, well you can always start over. When the round is over you will see highlights of the match. It doesn’t get better than seeing the slow motion punches, and the face ripples. The demo only features on level but I dare you only to play it once.
Fight Night Round 3 hit the 360 and every other console on February 21, 2006. The 360 Demo is on the Marketplace right now.
