Rock-Off for the Fun Machine! An SBCG4AP: Episode 3: Baddest of the Bands (PC/Wii) Review!
The lights dim. You hear a cacophony of high pitched wailing. The stage is instantly showered with lights, and pyrotechnics! Squeedly versus Meedley duel it out with guitar solos. Go Squeedly! Go Squeedly! Squeedly Wins! Then things take a turn for the worst, when a stage light comes crashing down, which shakes the lead vocalist to tears. Crying is most certainly not rock and roll. Looks like they won’t be winning this battle of the bands.

A masked stranger was seen fleeing the scene, but was not available for comment at this time.

This Duke Nukem 3D (XBLA) Review is All Out of Gum
That means that it’s time.
Duke Nukem is a man of science. He meets challenges with an open mind, and an equally open arsenal. When he’s given the task to rescue earth’s women from the alien invaders, he dons his shades and goes to battle, no questions asked. A true American hero.

Alan Wake Returns with New Trailer!
It’s been nearly two years since we last heard about Remedy’s Alan Wake. The next game from the studio that brought us Max Payne was looking fantastic even in early demonstrations.
No release window is given, but it’s good to know the project is still alive, and looking better than ever!
Expect it to release “When it’s Done™“

Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams Teaser Trailer!
Shipping with the PS3 version of Bioshock is the teaser trailer for the next iteration in the series: Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams.
By the looks of the trailer, the game will take place after the events of Bioshock, rather than be a prequel as was speculated. We see what is likely a Little Sister, appearing to not be so little anymore.
Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams will be available in late 2009.

Assassin’s Creed Sequel Referenced Vaguely
I imagine working on games before they’re announced could get frustrating. You would be communicating with co-workers about it all day, but you wouldn’t be allowed to talk about the project with people on “the outside”. It’s not surprising that the occasional slip up could slip out.
Let’s assume that’s what happened with Prince of Persia’s director of Animation, David Wilkinson when speaking of Sand’s of Time’s Animator Alex Drouin:
“He’s busy making Altair even more beautiful. Last thing I saw him do was getting Altair to swim.”
This seems to imply we’ll be seeing Altair sometime in the future. It could be Assassins Creed 2, or it could be something completely different. Regardless, I finally have an excuse to post this image:

New Prince of Persia Trailer Soothes the Soul with Jumping, and Magic!
The Prince of Persia series reinvented itself with the Sands of Time trilogy, but the new Prince of Persia appears to be reinventing itself much further. The graphical style is just stunning, and the calming music that accompanies each of the trailers can’t help but put a smile on my face. The vibrant hue’s in the expansive landscape offer beauty that few other games have been able to achieve. I can’t wait to hop, climb, slide, and magically duel foes in this stunning utopia, come this December!

Cing’s New DS Adventure Game: Again: Eye of Providence
Announced at the Tokyo Game Show, Again: Eye of Providence is the newest DS Adventure game from Hotel Dusk developer Cing. You may also remember Cing recently announcing a sequel to Trace Memory for the Wii. Surprisingly the small studio has been able to develop the two titles at once.
You will play as FBI special agent Jonathan Weaver on a search for answers in response to the death of his family which ties back to murders 18 years prior. Again looks like it could be the spiritual successor to Hotel Dusk: Room 215 graphically, sharing the 3D first person perspective. The gameplay hook is that you have the ability to see what happened back in time which helps to aid the investigation.

It will release in Japan and North America next Spring.

Keep It Clean with ‘Halo 3: Recon’ Next Fall!
At Microsoft’s Pre-TGS press briefing, the next chapter in the Halo saga was finally revealed. After quite a bit of teasing on Bungie’s end, they’ve finally lifted the curtain to reveal Halo 3: Recon. H3R is a standalone disc featuring a new campaign experience, which puts you in the role of a ODST (Orbital Drop Shock Trooper) on a special mission. The trailer seems to indicate that the Superintendent character could be assisting you on your journey.
Along with the new campaign, Halo 3: Recon will come with exclusive multiplayer maps (along with the full Halo 3 online multiplayer experience), which seems to imply that the rest of the package will remain similar to Halo 3.
Halo 3: Recon will launch Fall 2009, but until then ‘reader’… I urge you to please Keep it Clean.

Nintendo October Conference: New DS, Superb Wii Lineup, and Smiles aplenty!
I quite enjoyed what was shown at E3 by Nintendo, but many wanted more games for the core gamer. Nintendo listened. Big time. In a conference last night, they announced the 08-09 Line up for Wii, as well as a new DS model. Let’s start with DS.
Within the first minute of taking the stage, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata announced the next step for Nintendo DS. The Nintendo DSi.

DS Software Montage:
For a more in depth look at the DSi click here.
On the Wii front, you will now be able to use SD Card’s as memory card’s. This will become very important with more downloadable titles. As for new games, there are quite a few surprises.
- Punch-Out Wii
- Sin and Punishment 2
- Sengoku Musou (Samurai Warriors) coming to Wii.
- New mainline Tales of.
- Wii getting re-releases of GCN titles. Not ports. Not ports. Not ports. Not ports. Do not appear to have waggle or any changes. Not ports. Re-releases. Should be budget. Starting with DK Jungle Beat and Pikmin.
- Trace Memory: R, Gateway of Memory

That is one of the best announcements from the event for me. I played the original Trace Memory to death (over 50 hours now), and have been thinking about a Wii sequel for some time now. Cing confirmed to Buttonbasher that they were working on the Wii, and this is exactly the project I dreamt of them doing!
Here’s a montage of the upcoming Wii software:
Overall I am super excited for all this new Nintendo stuff! It’s a wonderful time to be a Nintendo fan!

Mirrors Edge- Faith City Trailer
The style of this new story trailer is interesting. I’m digging the vibe these have been presenting. Having been sold by previous in-game trailers, it’s good to know that the story looks just as interesting as the gameplay.
Mirrors Edge leaps to store shelves this November.
