New Harmonix Game to be Announced on Monday
From Game Life:
EA, MTV Will Announce New Harmonix Game Monday
Electronic Arts, MTV, and Harmonix will announce the Guitar Hero maker’s next game this Monday in an early-morning teleconference.
In an email to media late Friday night, representatives of the companies said that MTV and Harmonix will also unveil a “first of its kind” partnership with major record labels and music publishers; representatives of those labels will be on hand during the teleconference.
Electronic Arts announced at Game Developers’ Conference earlier this month that they would publish Harmonix’s next game, but did not give any more details at that time.
Place your bets. I’m guessing Gangsta’ Rap Hero for Wii.

GTA IV Cover Story in next months Game Informer!

Game Informer says: The official Grand Theft Auto IV trailer has gone live, and while you can download that here, the only other place you’re going to get any information about the game is from Game Informer Magazine. That’s right, Game Informer Magazine’s May Cover Story is the World Exclusive first look at Grand Theft Auto IV! Sorry, that’s all the people at Rockstar will allow us to say at this time. You’ll have to wait patiently until the May issue ships before you get anything more on the game.
Woot! I heart Game Informer!

New Gyakuten Saiban 4 Trailer is AWESOME!
I’m a huge Ace Attorney fan, and am praying for the third one to be localized. In the meantime, Japanese fans get their hands on the 4th game (the first in the series to not star Phoenix Wright) on April 12. In celebration of this, an new trailer has been announced that showcases the new characters, and features from Gyakuten Saiban 4. It also has the delightful music featured on the Orchestral soundtrack.

I really want this to come to america very soon!

NiGHTS Scans! It’s Wii!

These are very big images, and if I resize them here, you won’t be able to see the wonder. Of course these are from a foreign magazine so you won’t be able to read any of the text (unless of course you are from the country of origin…).
This looks like it is either a remake, or includes the remake. I hope for the latter.
EDIT: Some translated info from Neo-GAF poster “canocha”
Claire and Elliot are back, NiGHTS has new moves that he can’t talk about (yet… wait till next month).
He can’t talk about new characters.. again wait till april!
New moves that will be easy to use with the wiimote.
He choose nintendo Wii because of the controler (duh).
There will be a Two Players mode and some online functions.
Takeshi Iizuka said this is still Wii Exclusive (hummm i dont like the way he said it)
In the splash water look alike level Water and Air will blend O_o
And that picture about X-Mas NiGHTS.. its just a wish saying “Extras: would be great to have a lot of ‘em just like X-mas NiGHTS”
Yay!

New Halo 2 maps on April 17!
Remakes of Hang Em High, and Derelict from Halo CE! Press Release:
HALO 2 MULTIPLAYER MAPS REVEALED
Microsoft Game Studios and Bungie Studios today confirmed the upcoming release of two new, eagerly awaited downloadable maps for “Halo® 2.” The maps will be available as premium downloadable content for Xbox® and Xbox 360™ on April 17.
Fans of the original “Halo” have long requested the addition of some of their favorite maps to the critically acclaimed multiplayer experience of “Halo 2.” These re-creations, developed by Bungie and Certain Affinity Inc., are a perfect way to thank fans for their support as they surpass 800 million hours of “Halo 2” gaming on Xbox LIVE®.
The two maps will bring new life to ancient battlefields and legendary skirmishes, as both are new, improved and redesigned remakes of fan favorites from the original “Halo: Combat Evolved.” For the price of $4 for the pair, these maps bring a fresh burst of action to the seminal “Halo 2” online multiplayer experience. Both of the maps will be available through the “Halo 2” in-game content downloader for both Xbox and Xbox 360.*
The king of “Halo” maps has returned at last. Hang ’Em High, arguably the most popular multiplayer map for the original title, has been reimagined for “Halo 2” as Tombstone, with all-new graphics, features and a few hidden surprises. Now fans will enjoy the dangerous catwalks and trenches that made this the most requested “Halo” multiplayer map ever, with a modernized “Halo 2” flavor.
The second map, Desolation, is a symmetrical, Deathmatch-oriented map and a beautiful remake of the original Derelict. With new graphics and effects and a massive gameplay overhaul, the old favorite is now faster-paced and more balanced than ever — perfect for intense “Halo 2” combat.
Frankie says: It’s an original Xbox download, so there’s no way to use MS points – and you WILL need an Xbox Live Gold account to download and play, since the original Xbox (even in BC mode) can’t tell the difference between gold and silver. But you CAN use these on 360, just so we’re clear. You just need to use a credit card for the purchase, instead of marketplace points.
Hooray! 2 bucks a map! 18 days away!

GTA IV Trailer Hammers Internet.
It appears that GTA IV will take place in New York City (Liberty City?), and you will play as a russian man. There, now that that’s out of the way, the internet was hit hard at 6PM EST when the trailer went live. It took me until 6:38 before the site worked.
The tagline this time around is “Things will be different”
Check it out here: GTA IV Trailer
This looks very nice. I am going to buy this day one!
EDIT: It’s now on the Live Marketplace.

NiGHTS Sequel Confirmed!!!!!!! Commence the Happy Dancing!!!

After I had a moment to blast the NiGHTS Theme music, hug my collection of the entire NiGHTS comic book series, and jump on the couch, I took a second to think of how exciting this news really is. Sega is reviving a series that didn’t really see amazing sales. No platform is stated on this cover, but since this is most likely the same “Exclusive” hinted at in the ONM preview we know it’s on a Nintendo console. It would work very well on both DS and obviously Wii.
I’ve been seriously nerding out over this news. I am a huge NiGHTS fanboy (see above), and I still break out the Saturn every few weeks to give it a quick playthrough. On one hand though Sonic Team’s games haven’t been too good, but on the other hand the graphical upgrade has got to be looking nice.
These magazines should start hitting newstands around the world very soon, and scans are sure to surface. Expect this to be the new Hotel Dusk of Buttonbasher! Heh.
It’s NiGHTS!!!!!!!!

Oblivion Expansion available on the Marketplace
If you can avoid the Live downtime, and have 30 dollars handy, you can download the 30 hour fun fun happy time, called The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion: Shivering Isles. Unless you have the PS3 version, because no one knows when you get it. Xbox 360 gets it first, but were still paying 30 dollars, I’m not sure who wins here…
