Have fun in the After(half) Life.
May 28, 2006
Buttonbasher is usually all about fun and games. It’s usually about crap I get, or gaming news. Well today, this is serious. It’s not about games per se, instead about a gamer. A gamer just like you and me. He had a passion for computers, and was working on a mod to Half Life 2.
I’m not really a PC gamer (due to crap specs) but I did follow the Goldeneye Source mod. It was pretty cool to chat it up with the people making it. But today, I learned that the Mod leader, Nick Bishop, is Dead.
“Nicholas “Nick” L. Bishop, 27, Bellevue, passed away on May 24, 2006, at his home. Nick was born December 5, 1978, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Donald and Susan (Davids) Bishop. He was a graduate of Shawano High School. He was employed with ShopKo in Green Bay. Nick enjoyed working with computers. He was also a video-game enthusiast. He worked on a large team that developed the mod Goldeneye Source. He also enjoyed writing, both stories and screenplays.”
Then…
Man found dead in Bellevue duplex fire
BELLEVUE — A 27-year-old man was found dead early Wednesday inside a burning duplex.
Assistant Bellevue Fire Chief Brad Muller said fire crews were called about 12:15 a.m. to an Aquarius Road res-idence.
Brown County Medical Examiner Al Klimek said the man had taken a charcoal grill into the bathroom and started a fire.
“The death is still under investigation, but all things point to a deliberate act,” Klimek said.
Muller said the fire appeared to be intentionally set and probably the by-product of a suicide attempt. The name of the victim is being withheld pending the notification of family, Muller said.
Sometimes we lose people, and we don’t know why. No one seems quite sure why he killed himself, but Buttonbasher wishes the best to the people close to him.
